Peter McPherson, Northern Regional Industrial
Officer
As reported earlier, In July 2003 Northern Regional Industrial Officer Ernie Razborsek passed away. Ernie continued to work up until his passing in July and will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew and worked with him. Ernie was involved in the negotiation of various construction projects including the completion of the $350 million Mt Arthur North coal construction project in the Hunter Region of NSW. Other projects Ernie continued to monitor were the Tomago Aluminium Smelter expansion project at the value of $220 million. With the assistance of affiliates, an application by the Labor Council for the Condong and Broadwater Co-Generation Construction Projects Consent Award was made and approved by the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW in October 2003. Other activities Ernie was involved with included industrial negotiations with Macquarie Generation and Eraring Energy. Upon his appointment, Peter McPherson assumed Ernie’s responsibilities. Some of the projects Peter has identified flow from the good work started by Ernie Razborsek. They include continuing the award negotiations at Eraring Energy, and outstanding award matters at Macquarie Generation. Other ResponsibilitiesPeter’s other activities include representing the Labor Council on the Hunter Valley Training Company and Vocational Training Tribunal.
