Information About The Generic Union PamphletPosted: 17 September 2001Position: Special Projects Officer
SummaryInformation about Labor Council's Generic NESB Pamphlets
GENERIC UNION PAMPHLET As part of the Labor Council's Productive Diversity Project to increase the accessibility of non-English Speaking Background (NESB) workers to information about unions via a series of generic pamphlets. The pamphlets have been developed so they can be used by organisers and unions in any workplace across New South Wales. The initial idea for the development of the pamphlets arose out of discussions within the NESB Union Network. The aim of the project was to produce a generic pamphlet that could be easily translated into various community languages and used by organisers across all industries. The pamphlet has been designed to address the major issues and questions initially asked by NESB workers in relation to unions in Australia. The pamphlet, and its translated versions are available to all unions at no cost via LABORNET. The pamphlet's format provides space for organisers to insert their own name and the contact details of their before handing the pamphlet to potential members. The pamphlet covers the following issues:
The pamphlet is now available in the following languages:
Further languages will become available as resources permit. Mark Morey Special Project Officer Labor Council of New South Wales |
