Book Launch - The State of the States 2004

Which of Australia's state governments is performing best according to the triple-bottom line? The Evatt Foundation will launch the nation's only annual assessment of the performance of Australia's state governments in economic, social and environmental policy at a function on Tuesday 26th October, 2004.

In a beefed-up edition of The State of the States, this year's volume also features major assessments of the state of corrective, health, education and children's services. Authors include Professors Mark Findlay and Tony Vinson, Graham Larcombe, Paul Fitzgerald and Stephen Rix.

The book will be launched by Professor Findlay. Mark is the author of the assessment of the state of corrective services and a co-ordinator of the Criminology Postgraduate Program within the Law School of the University of Sydney. Previously Dean of the Law School in 1998-1999, and Pro Dean in 1999, Mark also currently holds a research Chair at Nottingham Law School.

The State of the States will be launched at the Vibe Hotel (previously the Quality Hotel), Sydney, 111 Goulburn Street, Sydney, opposite the Goulburn Street Parking Station and a short stroll from both Central and Museum Railway Stations.

The time is 6.00pm for 6.30pm, concluding at 8pm, and there will be light refreshments.
