Politics, Progress and Sedition - Did Juanita Nielsen die for something? Guest Speaker - Dr Jocelynne A. Scutt
Never has the Australian landscape seemed so bleak. Dishonesty and deceit at the highest levels, a lack of compassion for the disadvantaged and dispossessed. In July 1975, Juanita Nielsen, publisher of the independent paper "Now", disappeared because she stood up to rapacious developers. Her murderers were never brought to justice. Thirty-one years on, the responsibility to stand up and to refuse to be silenced remains with every one of us. If ever the courage of Juanita Nielsen was needed, the time is now. Dr Jocelynne Scutt is a barrister & human rights lawyer, writer and filmmaker.
