Code to Improve Conditions For Contract Cleaners

A new code of conduct for ACT cleaners establishes responsible employment standards for the industry, setting new benchmarks for the rest of Australia.
The Code of Best Employment Practice will guarantee award rates of pay and other working conditions, such as OHS standards, employee rights, training, superannuation and long service leave.
About 85% of the key players in the ACT cleaning industry, including large and small contractors, have signed up to the code, following an 18 month campaign by the LHMU.
